MY PLANS FOR THE CONTENT OF THE WMU PAGE
Welcome to the WMU page of the Clear Creek Baptist Church website. While one of the purposes of having this page is to keep all the ladies informed of what is happening within WMU, the main purpose is to challenge all of us to grow spiritually. I have a real burden for discipleship and revival. The first step toward revival and discipleship is to get rid of the things which do not belong in our lives.

In light of the fact that former missionary, Dr Avery Willis went home to be with the Lord last Friday and also something that Pastor Rocky mentioned in his sermon last Sunday, I want to share with you something that Dr Willis wrote to help us have a time of daily devotions.
HOW TO HAVE A QUIET TIME
(By Avery Willis)
Make a personal quiet time the top priority of your day. Select a time to spend with God that fits your schedule. If your quiet time is in the morning, set the alarm. If it is difficult for you to wake up, plan to exercise, bathe, dress and eat before your quiet time.
My quite time will be _____________ every day.
Select a place where you can be alone. Gather materials such as your Bible, notebook, pen/pencil. You may want to have your materials in the place selected the night before, so you will not waste time hunting for them in the morning.
The place for my quiet time will be/is_________
Develop a balanced plan of Bible reading and prayer.Pray for guidance during your quiet time. Follow a systematic plan to read your Bible. Choose any Book of the Bible or use your Sunday School book or Open windows. Make notes of what God says to you through His Word. Pray in response to the Scriptures you have read. As you pray, use various types of prayer. One example is ACTS.
Adoration (Praise)
Confession
Thanksgiving
Supplication
Intercession (pray for others)
Petition (pray about your own needs)
Be persistent until you are consistent. Strive for consistency rather than for length of time spent. Try to have a few minutes of quiet time every day rather than long devotional periods every other day. Focus on the person you are meeting rather than the habit of having the quiet time.
Expect interruptions because the enemy tries to prevent you from spending time with God. However, he fears even the weakest Christian on his/her knees. Plan around interruptions rather than being frustrated by them. If you scheduled a meeting with the person you admire most, you wouldn’t allow anything to stand in your way. Meeting God is even more important. He created you with a capacity for fellowship with Him, and He saved you to bring about that fellowship.
Mark on your calendar the days you have a quiet time.
God Bless you all.
