As early voting continues and we head towards Election Day, next Tuesday we encourage believers to be in prayer for our country, for candidates & for us as Christian voters. Next week, we may vote in new candidates to governmental powers and authorities, but as believers we rest in the assurance that the One on the Heavenly Throne, shall not change. As believers, we have a responsibility to both stand upon Truth and to conduct ourselves as peacemakers. In the divisive climate of American politics, that can seem like an impossible task. We encourage you to prayerfully consider your vote. We encourage you to pray for every candidate, that we may see them through the eyes of Jesus, as His creation. We pray that all candidates embrace the grace of the gospel in their personal lives and allow it to radically penetrate their political stances. We pray for protection over the candidates, their families and protection over our country. We pray for peace, regardless of the outcome and how we as believers can be ambassadors of peace and unity in a broken world. We surrender any anxieties and worries about the election as we take rest in the unchanging sovereignty of God.
